Educators Take Aim At Cyber-Bullies

The National Education Association is stepping up in the fight against an increasing amount of cyber-bullying.
While teasing is certainly nothing new, Dennis Van Roekel, president of the NEA, said he's concerned about a rising tide of aggressive behavior online.

"I think if you pay attention and develop good programs and make students aware, we can end that," said Van Roekel.

The NEA's Health Information Network has developed a program aimed at parents and teachers called "Be Net Savvy" Network executive director Gerald Newberry explained that in these high-tech times, a simple schoolyard fight can escalate quickly, and the evidence of it can linger longer.
